On 01 June 2022, Her Excellency the Ambassador, Ms. Alexandra Berg Vone Linde, Embassy of Sweden, Dhaka, Bangladesh; along with Prasenjit Chakma, Assistant Resident Representative, UNDP; Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain, Programme Coordinator, NRP; Mr. Abu Saleh Md. Mohiuddin Khan, Joint Secretary, MoDMR & PD, NRP DDM Part; representatives from the local administration of kurigram district, and representatives from UNDP & UN Women visited the community-based resilience-building activities of the NRP project.
The ambassador interacts with community people and explores how the community benefited from the raised common ground during the flood and visited flood resilience to disable accessible model house for Person with Disabilities in Ramna Union. The mission team also visited the activities on DRR inclusive Social Safety Net, and Meet with Flood Preparedness Programme (FPP) volunteer and DMCs members to knowing how response during floods occurs in their community. The Honorable Ambassador advised that all stakeholders should be united to reduce disaster risk as well as build resilience.
