The Executive Board of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS participated in a stakeholder meeting with the National Resilience Programme (NRP) on 29 June 2022 and time 12.30 PM at BICC, Media Bazaar. Her Excellency Ms. Yoka Brandt, President of the Executive Board of UNDP/UNFPA/UNOPS and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of The Netherlands to the UN (Head of Delegation) said that the presentation is quite appreciative and Bangladesh is a disaster-prone area. NRP contributes a lot to building resilience regarding disaster risk reduction through gender-responsive DRM and risk information development and planning. The Chair, Mr. Md. Kamrul Hasan ndc, Secretary of Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief reflected that Bangladesh is facing different types of disasters like floods, cyclones, landslides, and drought, sometimes these disasters strike combinedly at different times and spaces. NRP as a Technical Assistant project helps GoB to update the current strategies and policies event Act also with the MoDMR and other Ministries relating to Disaster Risk Management. A total of 50 personnel from GoB Ministries/Division, Development Partners from the Government of Sweden, and FCDO & UN AgenciesRepresentatives ( UNDP, UNOPS, and UNWomen ) are active participated & shared resilience ideas with Board Members.
